September 2017 Collection

Whew! It is finally here. Better late than never, I guess. When I set out to do a collection every month I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I seem to learn something new with each collection and this one was no exception. Things will not always go as planned. Even when you have clear, well thought out plans with every intention of sticking to them, life will happen regardless and tell your plans to have a seat! I heeded the lessons of the August Collection and did not push myself even with missed deadlines, and finding myself falling further and further behind. With this collection I learned to take it easy and do it all with a smile on my face. I mean, what's the point in stressing? And If I stress what is out of my control, I start to lose the joy and passion in what I'm doing. Some ideas didn't come to fruition and some projects weren't done in time for the blog but I did my best and was happy with the outcome. Most importantly, I did it all with a smile on my face, joy in my heart, and only a moderate amount of stress.
I had fun coming up with new ideas for this collection. With Fall just around the corner I wanted to keep my focus on neutral pieces that would transition easily with the season. I usually work on each piece individually with no clear cut direction and am always pleasantly surprised at how it all comes together. The color pallet ended up being really clean with of course whites and grays but also with crisp blues and natural tones. Even though Fall is known for it's rich pallet this, to me, is a light and refreshing side of the season that can be easily incorporated into any space. I always think the last collection was my best and "How in the world am I going to top that?" Well, I really love this collection and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed putting it together. Being able to take my creativity to knew heights is what drives me.
I hope you enjoy this months collection and that you are inspired!
